Ucom summarizes the extensive technical upgrades and network expansion achieved in 2024. Throughout the year, the company’s technical team built new mobile stations in the regions and Yerevan, making the company’s connection more accessible to subscribers. A massive modernization of existing stations was also carried out, raising the communication experience for subscribers to a new level.
The most notable milestone of 2024 was the launch of Ucom’s next-generation 5G network. Initially activated in November across 20 regional cities, the network has now expanded to include eight more cities: Ayrum, Ararat, Hrazdan, Nor Hachn, Noyemberyan, Kajaran, Yeghvard, and Shamlugh. With this latest expansion, Ucom’s 5G network is accessible in total in 28 regional cities. Ucom also announces 5G availability at the Bagratashen border checkpoint.
This ongoing radical modernization ensures faster and more reliable services for Ucom subscribers, supported by backup systems that meet telecommunications standards and guarantee service continuity.

The new high-speed 5G network is available to subscribers of prepaid, postpaid, and corporate mobile plans (excluding mobile internet-only plans) who use 5G-compatible smartphones running Android or iOS. Ucom is also working closely with Samsung to enable 5G access on its devices.
In parallel, Ucom has expanded its fixed network to provide high-speed home internet and television services in four additional cities: Ashtarak, Artashat, Nor Hachn, and Byureghavan. The fixed network has also been extended to residential areas in Kanaker and Jrvezh.
“The expansion and strengthening of both fixed and mobile networks was one of the primary goals of our company this year, and our technical team has worked day and night with great dedication to make all this a reality. We are very proud to launch the up-to-date and super-powerful 5G network, and as a client-oriented company we are also happy that many of our subscribers can enjoy this high-quality and stable connection. However, this is just the beginning, and next year our network modernization and expansion will continue at even higher speed,” said General Director of Ucom, Ralph Yirikian.
The modernization and expansion efforts including 5G expansion will carry on into 2025, and Ucom will continue to update the public with new developments.
