GM Karen Grigoryan scored 9 points out of 13 at the World Rapid Chess Championship 2024 and shared the 4th-9th places.
Karen defeated Chinese GM Wei Yi and Azerbaijani GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, both rated above 2700, in the 11th and 12th rounds, and drew with the champion of the championship GM Volodar Murzin in the last round.
Among the prize winners are also Armenian chess players GM Shant Sargsyan and GM Haik Martirosyan, who scored 8 points.
