Book Giving Day celebrated in Parliament

Since 2008 , on February 19 Book Giving Day is celebrated in Armenia. The day of choosing the Day is historic and sacred. On that day of 1869 the Poet of All Armenians  Hovhannes Tumanyan was born. On the occasion of this special Day, book launches, public readings and meetings with contemporary writers and actors are held across the country, as well as book discussions and festivals. The Day has also been celebrated in the legislative body for years: books are donated and received here on this Day.

This time the pupils and students chosen as the best readers of the regional libraries of 10 regions of Armenia 2024 visited the parliament. The aim of the visit was the participation in the meeting titled Event without scenario.

The deputies of the NA Civil Contract Faction Arman Yeghoyan, Arsen Torosyan, Sisak Gabrielyan and Arpine Davoyan welcomed the guests in the library of the legislative body and had a warm and relaxed conversation with them.

The children and teenagers talked with the deputies about the books they have read, their love of reading, the lessons they have learned from books, and the importance of books for human self-education and development. The deputies answered the guests’ various questions, urged them to read a lot, gave advice on books, and introduced their favorite authors and books.

On that special Day the guests and the MPs presented books to each other.

Afterwards, the children and teenagers, who love reading books visited the National Assembly Museum.
