On March 20, in Moscow, political consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. Delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan and Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Galuzin.
Within the framework of the consultations, the sides discussed a broad range of issues on the bilateral agenda. In the context of developing relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, the importance of political dialogue at all levels, including through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as continuity of mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas, was emphasized.
Views were exchanged on the development of trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Russia, as well as joint events and projects to be implemented in the cultural and humanitarian spheres in the near future.
The Deputy Minister briefed his Russian counterpart about the main directions and vision of Armenia’s foreign policy, as well as the progress of bilateral delimitation efforts with Azerbaijan, the finalization of the peace treaty, Armenia’s ongoing efforts to unblock communications within the framework of the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative.
