On 17 April, EU Ambassador Vassilis Maragos delivered welcoming remarks at the international conference “Education and Research for Sustainable Development: Institutional Policies and Practices,” organised within the Erasmus+ project “Transforming Graduate Education for a Green and Sustainable Future” (T-GREEN).
He highlighted the key role of higher education in building the skills and knowledge needed to tackle climate change and strengthen Armenia’s human capital.
Ambassador Maragos also presented EU regional and local initiatives—such as EU4Sevan, the E5P Fund, and the “EU Support to Education in Armenia” Budget Support—aimed at promoting sustainability, including a target for 30% of school projects in Grades 7, 8, 10, and 11 to focus on green economy and climate change by 2025.
