The delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defence-Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, is on an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus at the invitation of the Chief of the General Staff of the Cyprus National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas.

On May 22, an official welcoming ceremony was held in honor of Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, featuring a guard of honor and a military orchestra.

The national anthems of Armenia and Cyprus were performed.

Following the welcoming ceremony, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Edward Asryan, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Cyprus National Guard, Georgios Tsitsikostas, held discussions on a range of issues pertaining to Armenia–Cyprus cooperation in the defence sector.
