Vahan Kostanyan: Cooperation with France is crucial for the development of Armenia’s strategic regions

On June 2, the 5th Armenia-France Decentralized Cooperation Conference began in Goris, with sessions continuing tomorrow. At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan and Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia David Khudatyan delivered remarks.

The conference is attended by representatives of the legislative and executive authorities of Armenia and France, heads of territorial bodies, and more than four hundred representatives of regional, departmental and municipal authorities.

In his opening remark, the Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the role of Armenia-France decentralized cooperation as a dynamic aspect of the multifaceted relations between the two friendly countries.
Vahan Kostanyan underlined the significance of holding the conference in Syunik, taking into consideration the goal of assuring development and strengthening resilience of regions of strategic importance to Armenia, and among them, primarily Syunik region.

In the context of Armenia’s efforts regarding establishing lasting peace in the region, Vahan Kostanyan also referred to the agreed text of Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasizing Armenia’s readiness to sign it without delay.
