RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan: Our attitude towards paying taxes must fundamentally change

On June 4, the joint sitting of the standing committees of the National Assembly launched preliminary debates on the annual report on the Implementation of the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2024.

The sitting was attended by the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the RA NA President Alen Simonyan, and the representatives of the legislative and executive powers.

The RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the substantive and numerical indicators of the budget document.

In 2024, the state budget revenues amounted to 2 trillion 579 billion 200 million AMD. In November 2024, an absolute record was set for all-time registered and paid jobs in the Republic of Armenia. 782.832 jobs were registered, which is 192.613 or 32% more than the indicator of November, 2018. In April of this year, a new historical record was recorded for salaries – 783.547, which is 242.119 or 44.7% more than in April 2018. After the 2018 revolution, 242.119 jobs were created in Armenia.

In April 2018, the average salary was 173.996 AMD, in April 2025 – 304.992 AMD, the average salary increase was 130.000 AMD or 75%. During the same period, the aggregate inflation rate was 25%. According to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, this figure indicates the well-being of the people.

In April 2025, the total gross fund of the registered salaries of all employees amounted to 238 billion 975 million AMD, in 2018 In April, it was 94 billion 206 million AMD. The increase was 144 billion AMD or 153%. “This is about the state and non-state,” the Prime Minister noted and added: “High salaries are mainly 80-90% received by those who received competitive education, low salaries are approximately 80-90% received by those who did not receive competitive education.”

According to Nikol Pashinyan, the message “study well so that you live well” should be conveyed to students in secondary schools. In this context, according to the Prime Minister, the scope of our ideas about living well should be expanded and refined. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia detailed the steps taken by the authorities to achieve the idea of ​​having a happy citizen.

“The state budget of the Republic of Armenia is the collective budget of all of us, but also the family budget of each of us. Our attitude towards paying taxes must change, it must change fundamentally, because there is a tax, there is a state, there is no tax, there is no state. There is a tax, there is welfare, there is no tax, there is no welfare. There is a tax, there is happiness, there is no tax, there is no happiness.
