On June 19, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Sonja Veronica Björklund, the Head of Delegation for the South Caucasus Country Cluster Delegation of International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of the Armenia-IFRC cooperation, particularly in the context of addressing the humanitarian challenges facing the region. The interlocutors exchanged views on ongoing programs aimed at addressing humanitarian needs and prospects for future collaboration.
The Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated the commitment of Armenia towards enhancing and deepening cooperation with international partners and humanitarian organizations on issues of a humanitarian nature.
Touching upon the needs of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh, the Deputy Minister briefed his counterpart on the efforts undertaken by the Government of Armenia to address both the medium- and long-term needs, stressing the importance of sustained international support in this regard.
