Hanoi, September 23, 2025 – For the first time “The Armenia–Viet Nam EdTech Summit” were organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Viet Nam, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia to Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam and the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, and co-organized with The Sentry and Viet Nam National Innovation Center (NIC).

The Armenia–Vietnam Education and Technology Summit followed the recent visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam H.E. Mr. Tran Thanh Man to the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, underscoring the alignment between Viet Nam’s leadership vision and TUMO’s mission to empower youth with creative and technological skills.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam H.E. Mr. Tran Hong Ha reaffirmed that innovation and technology are at the heart of Viet Nam’s national development strategy. He emphasized that TUMO’s internationally recognized model fits within Viet Nam’s ambition to equip young people with advanced digital and creative skills.

The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that the project’s long-term success must rely on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework, bringing together both government and private sector resources. Deputy Minister of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam H.E. Mr. Le Quan has been officially assigned to coordinate the project in close collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Viet Nam, the Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Ho Chi Minh City, and TUMO leadership.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, Philippines and Laos stated: This is not only about education. It is about creating the skilled workforce that drives innovation, attracts investment, and fuels sustainable economic growth. It is about connecting Armenia’s “Silicon Mountains” with Vietnam’s emerging “Silicon Delta,” and by extension, strengthening ties across the wider ASEAN region. Today’s Armenia-Vietnam Technology Summit is a milestone on that journey. We are not here only to exchange ideas, but to build partnerships – between governments, between educational institutions, and between businesses. By doing so, we can create tangible projects that support our young people, advance our economies, and deepen the friendship between our two nations.

TUMO is headquartered in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, and is a center providing free of charge education at the intersection of technology and design for teenagers aged 12 to 18. The center has helped thousands of students around the world understand and nurture their passion for technology. The establishment of centers operating under the TUMO model in Viet Nam marks a new milestone, expanding cooperation not only between governments but also among educational institutions and businesses of both countries. These centers will become symbols of the strong and enduring friendship between the two countries.

Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, Mr. Gregory Ohannessian stated: “By combining Armenia’s expertise with Viet Nam’s dynamic market, both nations can forge a powerful EdTech partnership—driving prosperity, nurturing innovators, and strengthening ties. The time to connect our ecosystems is now.”

Earlier the same day, during discussions with the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam H.E. Mr. Suren Bagdasaryan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam H.E. Mr. Tran Hong Ha praised Armenia’s commitment to turning ideas into action by coming directly to Viet Nam to present the TUMO model—a new approach to knowledge delivery that targets specific groups and generates meaningful impact.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam H.E. Mr. Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the greatest challenge does not lie in infrastructure or funding—resources that can be mobilized from both the state budget and the private sector—but in knowledge itself. He stressed that the most valuable asset is the intellectual capital of those who design the educational model and affirmed that Viet Nam has strong potential to attract private sector investment in education. Once the TUMO model proves its effectiveness, it should be scaled quickly through flexible formats such as “TUMO Boxes” or “TUMO Containers,” ensuring access to knowledge in even the most remote areas.
