The Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia has concluded the two-week training phase in Armenia of the 2025–2026 Diaspora Youth Ambassador program.
This year, the program brought together 27 young participants from 14 countries — France, Germany, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Romania, the Netherlands, Georgia, Iran, China, Estonia, and Canada.

Over the course of 13 intensive days in Armenia, the ambassadors took part in a specially designed educational program that combined both theoretical and practical components, including lectures, workshops, experience-sharing sessions, and meetings with professionals from various fields.
The participants also visited state institutions, scientific, educational, cultural, and spiritual centers, as well as national memorial sites and regions across Armenia. Following the two-week training, the ambassadors will carry out program-related initiatives in their respective communities over the next year, contributing to the strengthening of community life.

During the program’s closing ceremony, High Commissioner Zareh Sinanyan emphasized that the goal of the initiative is not only to strengthen the connection between the diaspora and the homeland, but also to bring diaspora communities closer to one another. He highlighted the importance of fostering mutual understanding between young people in Armenia and the diaspora, building a global network of active diaspora youth, and involving them as the Office’s local partners within their communities. The High Commissioner wished the participants success, expressing confidence that they would expand their efforts and become reliable partners of the Office in their respective communities.

Program Director Lilit Khachatryan noted that the training in Armenia was both productive and enriching, and that it would have a positive impact on the effectiveness of the ambassadors’ community work and the success of their initiatives.

As part of the official closing ceremony, and building on last year’s successful collaboration, the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs and Bedros Astourian, 2024-2025 France’s Diaspora Youth Ambassador and President of the Armenian International Interprofessional Group (G2iA), signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing new forms of partnership.
The program is implemented with the financial support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
