Yerevan, October 14, 2025 — The Silicon Mountains 2025 summit, titled “Anatomy of AI,” took place in Yerevan, reaffirming its status as Armenia’s key technological platform. The event brought together leading experts and industry leaders to explore the structure of artificial intelligence — from algorithms and neural networks to data flows and the role of human experience in digital transformation.
In his opening speech, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized:
“I can mention the first three steps we envision to support the development of the technology sector. The first is education, the second is education, and the third is education.
The next steps include infrastructure, good regulations, and sound policies. But a question arises — what do we need to create and maintain good infrastructure, regulations, and policies? I believe the answer is the same: education, education, and again education.”

Pashinyan noted that technology companies are already actively involved in developing school education, helping create key conditions for sustainable growth and security.
The Executive Director of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies (UEICT), Eduard Musayelyan, highlighted that this was already the ninth edition of the summit. Over the past two years, events have also been held in Armenia’s regions — in Gyumri and Lori — for the first time.
“The format, where one event is held in the capital and another in the regions each year, allows us to spread innovations across the entire country. We believe technology should be accessible to every community, every school, and every young person,” Musayelyan said.
He also underlined the importance of the STEP.ai program introducing artificial intelligence courses in high schools, launched in October 2024 in 15 schools across the country.
Under this three-year program, students study AI in depth starting from the basics. In 10th grade, they learn programming in Python, enabling them to control computers. In 11th grade, they study machine learning, and by 12th grade, they are already building real robots.
The summit featured world-renowned experts and industry leaders, including Vincent Roche, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board of Directors of Analog Devices Inc., and winner of the Global High-Tech Award 2025; Noubar Afeyan, Founder & CEO of Flagship Pioneering; Co-founder & Chairman of Moderna; Andre Andonian, Chair Asia Pacific & Strategic Advisor of Flagship Pioneering, Chairman Emeritus North Asia McKinsey; Ivan Lesić, CTO of Nokia Mobile Networks for Central & South Europe; Adam Kablanian, tech entrepreneur, winemaker, founder of Alexandrea Winery; Vahe Andonians, CEO and founder of Cognaize, and other industry leaders. They shared personal insights and discussed the future of AI, generative models, data management, and the role of human experience.
One of the summit’s key highlights was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Ucom and Nokia on “Autonomous Networks and the Application of Artificial Intelligence for 6G.” The document was signed by Ralph Yirikian, CEO of Ucom, and Dr. Rolf Werner, Head of Europe at Nokia.
As part of the summit, a special double-sided postcard cancellation ceremony dedicated to Silicon Mountains 2025 was also held. The event was attended by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia; Gevorg Meliksetyan, Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry; Shushan Aleksanyan, CEO of HayPost; Hovik Musayelyan, President of the Philatelists Association of Armenia; Eduard Musayelyan, Executive Director of UEICT; and Ralph Yirikian, CEO of Ucom. The postcard design was created by David Dovlatyan.
