During the 43rd session of UNESCO’s General Conference held in Samarkand, a decision was adopted to include the 150th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Armenian linguist and academician Hrachya Acharyan (1876–1953) and the 100th anniversary of the start of the construction of Republic Square(1927), Yerevan, in the UNESCO Calendar of anniversaries of eminent personalities and important events for the 2026-2027 cycle.
Since 1998, 31 anniversaries submitted by the Republic of Armenia have been included in UNESCO’s Calendar of anniversaries of eminent personalities and important events.
