Unibank announces the launch of a new tranche of perpetual bonds denominated in AMD, following high investor interest and the successful placement of earlier issuances. The volume of the new tranche is AMD 3 billion, and the coupon is 13.75% per annum.
Earlier, the bank successfully placed the first perpetual bonds on the Armenian financial market, totaling AMD 3.5 billion and USD 9 million. The placement was completed significantly ahead of schedule—the entire volume was purchased in almost a single day. Strong investor demand significantly exceeded the supply, which prompted the issuance of a new tranche.
Coupon payments on the perpetual bonds will be made quarterly. For the first three years, the rate will remain fixed, after which it will be calculated based on the three-month government bond yield curve plus 6.5%. After a five-year period, the bank may apply a call option and repurchase the bonds at par value.
The introduction of this new instrument is an important milestone in the Armenia’s capital market, providing investors with an opportunity to receive stable long-term income. Unibank will continue to strengthen its position in the capital market by offering modern saving and investment tools and contributing to the development of the country’s financial infrastructure.
