January 09,2026 20:54

EU NEIGHBOURS eastIn December 2025, the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project participated in an award ceremony of the nationwide competition, dedicated to innovative projects and scientific-technical developments created by young people.

The event brought together senior government officials, leaders of scientific institutions, representatives of partner organisations, and young people from across Armenia.

The participants were welcomed by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Artur Martirosyan, who also presented awards to the winners. In his opening address, the Deputy Minister highlighted that the competition has steadily evolved into a dynamic platform for cultivating creativity, fostering teamwork, and motivating young people to actively engage in national development.

The 2025 competition set a new record, with 151 applications submitted – 2.5 times more than in 2024 – 135 of which were considered eligible for participation. Applications were submitted by school students, university students, and young professionals from various sectors, demonstrating a broad range of scientific, technical, and social interests. A key emphasis of the 2025 competition was its strong civic and social impact.

While scientific and technical merit remained central to the evaluation process, applications were also assessed based on their social relevance and contribution. This approach encouraged participants to view their ideas as practical tools for addressing community needs and national development priorities. Five projects were selected as winners including various thematic categories, such as Natural and Exact Sciences, Technologies and Innovation, Humanities and Social Sciences, Green Economy and Technologies.

The winning projects ranged from advanced scientific research and robotics to digital learning solutions and environmentally focused technologies, collectively demonstrating the depth and diversity of innovative thinking among Armenian youth. EU4Youth’s participation contributed to integrating youth perspectives from remote regions of the country into the discussion and to fostering new partnerships and collaboration opportunities in the fields of innovation, technology, and scientific development.
