Artak Adamyan has decided not to continue his work with the Armenia women’s national team.
The Football Federation of Armenia expressed its gratitude to Adamyan for his professional and dedicated work as head coach of the team.
According to FFA president Armen Melikbekyan:
“Under Artak Adamyan’s leadership, our team took a step forward by recording its first victory in official matches and demonstrating that women’s football in Armenia has great development potential and promising prospects.Thanks to his purposeful and consistent work, the team was formed and a solid foundation was created for future success. Taking all this into account, I am confident that the women’s national team will achieve new successes based on the foundation created by Artak Adamyan.I am sure that his efforts will have a positive impact on the development of women’s football in Armenia.I wish Artak Adamyan further success in his coaching career.”
Adamyan also shared a farewell message:
“Dear teammates and football fans,Our joint journey with the Armenia women’s national team has come to an end. This period was full of challenges, victories, and invaluable experience. It was not an easy decision, but I believe the time has come.I would like to express special thanks to the players for their willpower, perseverance, and energy. You proved that women’s football in Armenia has great potential. I also thank the coaching staff and all employees for their dedication and effective cooperation. I’m grateful to our fans who constantly supported us in both victory and defeat.I would also like to thank the Football Federation of Armenia for their trust, the opportunity provided, and their support.I wish our players continued success. I’m confident they will still give many reasons to be proud of their game.”
Under Adamyan’s leadership, the Armenia women’s national football team celebrated its first official victory. On April 9, 2024, during the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 qualification, Armenia defeated Bulgaria women’s national football team 3-2.
It should also be noted that the Armenia women’s national team is competing in League C, Group C6 of the qualification stage for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification (UEFA). In the opening match, Armenia lost 0-3 to the Kazakhstan women’s national football team.
The team’s next match will take place on April 14, when Armenia will host the Belarus women’s national football team.
