French President Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday that he had discussed the Iran ceasefire talks and the situation in Ukraine with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.
“I just held a meeting with President Erdogan
First, we discussed the situation in the Near East and Middle East; we called for adherence to the ceasefire and its implementation in Lebanon, for the preservation of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and emphasized the necessity of a strong, lasting diplomatic solution.
We also addressed the situation in Ukraine and our joint efforts within the framework of the Volunteers Coalition to contribute to the establishment of a just, lasting peace. I stressed that this peace must absolutely align with the principles of the United Nations Charter and be based on strong security guarantees for Ukraine.
