Armenia and Bulgaria sign declaration on strategic partnership

Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan hosted the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Iliana Yotova at the Government.

The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of Iliana Yotova and her delegation to Armenia to participate in the 8th Summit of the European Political Community. Prime Minister Pashinyan congratulated Ms. Yotova on assuming the office of President of the Republic of Bulgaria and wished her success.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that the relations between the two countries are at a high level of political dialogue and it will be recorded in a document of a strategic nature of relations to be signed today. The Prime Minister emphasized that bilateral relations between Armenia and Bulgaria have great potential. Nikol Pashinyan also thanked Bulgaria for the support provided to Armenia within the framework of the European Union.

Iliana Yotova expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and for hosting the European Political Community Summit. The Bulgarian President emphasized that the EPC Summit has achieved tangible results since its inception. Iliana Yotova also congratulated the Prime Minister of Armenia on the occasion of the next EU-Armenia Summit.

The interlocutors discussed topical issues related to the further development of Armenia-Bulgaria relations, touched upon various topics of regional importance.

Following the meeting, Nikol Pashinyan and Iliana Yotova signed the Joint Declaration “On Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Bulgaria”.
