The dismissal of the first was a great surprise for Kochinian but it wasn’t for Heroyan.
Prime Minister Andranik Margarian dismissed yesterday regional governors of Armavir and Lori Albert Heroyan and Henrik Kochinian. The fact that both governors were dismissed before the parliamentary elections proves that RPA didn’t like them. But yesterday, both former regional governors didn’t connect their dismissal with RPA during their interview to “Aravot” and didn’t see any political connection with their position and RPA assuring that they haven’t offended the Republicans and haven’t make the PM angry. It becomes clear from their explanations that they have come to agreement and decided a general reason for their dismissal to avoid of unnecessary noise; «it was our time to retire». But if for 66 years old Albert Heroyan\’s \’pension version\’ is justified, Henrik Kochinian is 58 years old and it isn\’t time to retire. For example, new-appointed regional governor of Armavir, Ashot Ghahramanian is younger than Kochinian by a year.
Yesterday the officials of Lory regional municipality were in mourning for their governor’s dismissal. Henrik Kochinian’s officials were answering the phone calls crying. Though Mr. Kochinian had already been dismissed from his position but he went to work on 7 December. But yesterday morning he bid farewell to his officials and left.
In his interview to “Aravot” Kochinian said that the PM’s decision was very surprising for him: “I wasn’t expecting, he called me and Heroyan, we went, he said that we wouldn’t work though that decision was very surprising to me, but what could I do. If I say there has been no reason, it won’t be true but it is my and the government’s problem”. Henrik Kochinian assured that irrespective of everything, he would stay loyal to the RPA and his principles. What Mr. Kochinian must do without the position of regional governor? In his words; “I have started as a lecturer, and will over so. For example today I have delivered a lecture on descriptive geometry in Pedagogic Institute.
Contrary to his words, the former regional governor of Armavir assured “Aravot” that the government’s decision wasn’t accidental . and more, in his words; “ I have myself made an application a month before and have mentioned; please dismiss me from my position to retire. So it wasn’t surprise for Heroyan, nobody was dissatisfied from my work, it was my age, I must leave.” Mr. Heroyan has a lot of things to do; he has 10 grandsons. Yesterday he greeted his friends in position; “ I’m non party but I have always like RPA as my best friends are from that party’.
Yesterday the government officially declared that Aram Kocharian was appointed in the post of the regional governor of Lory and Ashot Ghahramanian succeeded Heroyan.
