Is the opposition ready to struggle against the oligarchs?
We published yesterday a project of the opposition where it was mentioned what oppositionist was going to nominate his candidacy in all 41 polling stations. It raised a great noise among the authority. Only Aram Sargsian, the leader of “Republic” party didn’t surprise at the published list and said that there were other lists, too. “I don’t know where that list from but it may be one of the working versions. I don’t consider discussion of those working versions tactical at this moment. ”
We were interested whether Aram Sargsian, like Artashes Geghamian thinks that such lists are published on purpose; “ I don’t suffer from spyomania, – was his answer. By the way Suren Abrahamian, the member of the party’s city soviet, gave the same answer, and after this answer the members of that party’s city soviet asked to emphasize that their city soviet has a joint opinion in every issue. Aram Sargsian proposed the authorities to present their lists. “The whole point is that the elections must be political and not the elections of persons. And in case of fair elections that list will win,”- the leader of “Republic” Party said. According to that list Aram Sargsian will be nominated in N 18 polling station, which belongs to the owner of “Vedi Alco”, NA parliamentarian Manvel Ghazarian. Nowadays the latter fights for it with another alcohol maker /Avshar/ Aramais Grigorian.
“National Unity” leader Artashes Geghamian said that it might be bait; «NU considers the coming elections very important, we\’ll speak about the format of our participation in the coming meeting in February or March. The idea of being nominated by majority system is very interesting, we have changed our thoughts on that occasion, we haven\’t come to a final conclusion because there are a lot of developments in the political events\’. And added on the occasion of the information published in our newspaper; «It is misinformation for us, why does it spread, whom is it profitable what goals does it pursue?” He also said that all this was made for only a purpose; to insert struggle between authority and opposition. By the way, Artashes Geghamian is mentioned in the N 20 polling station, according to our list, which belongs to General Manvel Grigorian\’s brother, Hrant Grigorian.
PPA secretary Stepan Zakarian, the member of «Justice» group is included in N 32 polling station but it belongs to the head of «People\’s deputy» group Karen Karapetian.
In our question whether he was going to be nominated there, he answered; « We are for the idea of being nominated by majority system and we are for it but if the PPA wants me to participate, I will but there are some problems that must be discussed inside the party.
NDU leader Vazgen Manoukian said that nobody had said and discussed anything about the above-mentioned theme. «I have to repeat that our party thinks whether it is worth to participate in the elections. And you should ask before printing that information whether it is true or isn\’t»
