Today Raffi Hovhannisian, the Heritage Party leader, answering the questions of journalists “is it probable that PAP and RPA will run for the election on a common list?” at “Golden Tulip” club, said that the common list was as probable as a dialogue between ANC and PAP, “I don’t think that we should wait for that, holding our breath – when they do, we will make our comment, unless there is anything done, I don’t think we should look for anything in those deceiving directions.”
In response to a question “why was Hovik Abrahamyan discharged from the office of the National Assembly Speaker?” Raffi Hovhannisian said that it had been strange for him too, “The National Assembly Speaker who came to the National Assembly through a special action, his brother resigned, he was elected by the majority rule, Mr. Torosyan was fired, he was brought to win prestige for the National Assembly, he devoted himself to that job to some extent and a few months before the election when there were no legal grounds for election, the second man in the country resigned for that reason, I think there is some governmental unseriousness and a reflection of the sad reality in that, i.e. our establishment is not responsible to the people, nobody told us anything, except for we are establishing a headquarters and want everything to be fine. The right of the Armenian to be informed is ignored.” Referring to becoming a member of the European People’s Party (EPP) and that RPA, the Heritage Party and the Rule of Law Party (RLP) might actually be in the same party, Mr. Hovhannisian underlined that nobody had spoken of RLP, they might have said the rule of law government because of an interpretation mistake, “No one should joy yet. EPP must decide itself whom to admit and whom to reject, but no one is admitted or rejected at the moment.”
