Sharmazanov, “The President doesn’t tolerate the people who solve problems by force now either”

December 19,2011 15:29

When we were asking for commentaries from the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) members in regard to the event related to Suren Khachatryan, almost everyone was assuring that when the legal solution was made they would make political assessment. Today the words of Eduard Sharmazanov, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and the press secretary of RPA, showed that RPA was not going to make a political assessment of the incident even after the legal solution, i.e. closing the criminal case. According to him, “The Attorney General made an assessment and I have nothing to add to that. If there was no corpus delicti, what can we add? We generally treat all abnormal things negatively, I have nothing to add.” Aravot.am reminded Mr. Sharmazanov the statement made by President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in 2008 that he would not tolerate people who solved issues by force and if someone did not get rid of those vicious customs, the results would be visible.  Given those results are not visible for us, we asked Eduard Sharmazanov whether there was visible progress for him, “The President does not tolerate those who solve issues by force now either. There are many visible results for me, the activities of the police have become public, Alik Sargsyan also contributed to that, the police works very well, you can refer to the police officers and they will give all the necessary information who has been punished, but there is no need for that either, because they work very publicly.” In response to the question whether he would make a political assessment, besides a legal one, regarding the governor of Syunik, he snapped out, “We are finished with the issue concerning the governor of Syunik, any other questions?”
