Petros Makeyan, an ANC member, didn’t see signs of continuing the struggle during the Armenian National Congress rally yesterday. Mr. Makeyan told www.aravot.am that as opposed to the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) and the Heritage Party, which made public the violations registered during the election, but seemed not to have an intention to appeal, the ANC “made an impression of imitated street struggle” yesterday, making it clear that it will push street fight to the sidelines. In Petros Makeyan’s words, the ANC cannot adopt a non-standard work style, “The moves of the opposition have become predictable for the government, so they are able to achieve the best results.” Mr. Makeyan said that the methods of struggle of the ANC for the past half year were
incomprehensible for them, the Democratic Motherland Party, then he explained why they had supported the ANC, “We didn’t agree with many decisions, but we tried not to prevent that work style, in order that criticism of our party may not be made, in case of such election results. One could pick a different way of struggle during the emotional upheaval in spring 2011.”
The dialogue between the ANC and the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) was not acceptable for our interlocutor, “They made friends with the PAP, as a result, the Congress hardly managed to cross the 7% margin. The main reason was wrong calculations of the ANC. I blame not the people who preferred election bribe, but the Congress that didn’t allow the people to see in it the alternative that they saw a year ago.”
