“Shame on Him; in 2012, He Says Something We Have Been Saying for Thirty Years,” Hrant Bagratyan Says About Tigran Sargsyan

September 10,2012 14:39

Two days ago, Tigran Sargsyan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, discussed the reforms carried out in the Republic of Armenia, the level of cooperation with the EU and other regional issues with ambassadors accredited to the OSCE. In his speech, he talked about the well-known thesis of separating business from politics. The Prime Minister said in particular, “Our task is to separate business from politics, to make the activities of statesmen more transparent, make their statements of income more accessible for the society. We have already made those fundamental changes by adopting legal norms and other actions and I think that they are a new beginning of our reforms.”

We asked Hrant Bagratyan, a former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and a member of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), for comments on the Prime Minister’s wish for reforms and good purposes. During a conversation with www.aravot.am, he stated, “We have been saying that since 1991, it is also written in the ANC program. The more the

Prime Minister says ‘let’s separate business from politics,’ the more they join them together. And generally, I don’t care who the Prime Minister is and what he says. What new beginning… shame on him; in 2012, he says something we have been saying for the past thirty years. And it seems to him that people believe him.”
