An official prize draw of the second EU Bus tour lottery was held at the EU Centre on Tuesday, 1 October 2013. The Head of the Political, Economic, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation Dirk Lorenz drew the names of the lucky winners.
Lottery participants had to fill in a questionnaire about the European Union and MemberStates. 629 people took part in the lottery during the second EU Bus tour in Gegharkunik and Ararat marzes. 101 people answered all questions correctly and 72 people answered all but one question correctly.
The first prize went to Gevorgyan Aram, who is currently not working; the second prize went to Shaboyan Geghecik and the third prize was won by a pensioner Musoyan Sofik, pensioner. In the words of the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia the European Union wants to reach out to as many people as possible. “The EU Bus tours in the marzes are exactly designed for this,” Dirk Lorenz said. “We are trying to find interesting and engaging ways to tell people what EU does in Armenia and one of them is this lottery,” he added.
The first prize is a T-shirt with the logos of the European Union and the EU Centre and a goodie bag, the second prize is an umbrella with the logos of the European Union and the EU Centre and goodie bag and the third prize is a mug with the logos of the European Union and the EU Centre and a goodie bag.
The EU Centre is the main feature of the EU funded project “Support to the EU communication on reforms in Armenia”. Its goal is to raise awareness on EU development cooperation in Armenia and support education on the European Union. The centre’s website is a gateway to EU cooperation with Armenia. The duration of the project is two years.
