Samvel Harutyunyan, Co-Chairman of Regional Self-defense Committee, former Goris Mayor for the term 1992-1994 sued the Head of SIS, Vahram Shahinyan and RA Attorney General, Gevorg Kostanyan. Mr. Harutyunyan appealed the inaction of RA Attorney General and the Head of SIS at the Kentron and Nork Marash General Jurisdiction Court for failing to file a criminal case on the basis of his publications against a number of crimes committed by the former Syunik Governor Suren Khachatryan and his “gang”. “My several dozen publications present numerous crimes committed by unusual villain of our times, Surik Khachatryan, notorious Liska, and his gang, most of which are particularly grave crimes, flagrant fact-evidences. Once again, I declare that the heads of Armenia’s law enforcement system continue to demonstrate a criminal inaction against more than 60 fact-evidences published by me about Liska’s unusual criminal process, thus becoming one of contributory infringers in numerous crimes of specific gravity committed by the anti-heroes of our times”, said Mr. Harutyunyan to Aravot.am. The trial of Mr. Harutyunyan’s refutation in the Kentron and Nork Marash General Jurisdiction Court is scheduled for March 5, at 14:30 pm. “I have demanded for the court to eliminate the inaction of Prosecutor General and the head of the SIS, and also oblige them to file a criminal case based on the evidence published by me, and finally bring Suren Khachatryan and his accomplices to criminal responsibility,” said Mr. Harutyunyan. He also suggested the head of the SIS and the Attorney General to be at the court in person. “I refer with an appeal to human right defenders, political parties, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, Interpol representatives, ambassadors accredited in our country, citizens seeking for justice, and the media to be present at the trial, during which new, shocking revelations are expected. Pretty serious surprises are expected in this trial.”
