A Cabinet meeting was held today, chaired by Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan. Before discussing the agenda, Karen Karapetyan thanked the members of his government for joint work.

“We are holding the last Cabinet sitting in this composition, and I want to thank you all for cooperation and joint work. We went through quite an exciting period. I suggest reporting to the public about what we did in this period. I want to address a last assignment and request to all my colleagues: we must fulfill our responsibilities faithfully before the formation of a new government. The government officials must comply with their duties regardless of emotion, just or unjust criticism,” Karen Karapetyan said.

The Acting Prime Minister noted that the meeting agenda featured topical issues. “We have not included fundamental issues, such as socio-economic development, income tax reduction and health insurance so that the next government could decide whether to proceed with or not,” Karen Karapetyan pointed out.

The Government adopted a relevant decision to provide partial tuition fee compensation to students from borderline communities. According to the decision, 60% compensation will be available to the students with good academic performance, and 30% – to other students. The compensation will be financed from the State budget under the Provision of Student Benefits for Higher Education program.

With the following decisions, the Cabinet granted a 3-year VAT payment extension to Profpanel LLC for goods imported under its investment program, while ABC Textile LLC was exempted from the payment of customs duties for a period of 3 years.

The reference note says that new slaughterhouses are needed for the transition to mandatory slaughter in the Republic.

The Government came up with a proposal on the package of draft laws On Amending RA Labor Code and On Amending RA Law on State Pensions. All issues included in the meeting agenda were discussed and adopted.

In conclusion, Karen Karapetyan once again thanked everyone for joint work, wishing good mood and good work.
