The Republican Party of Armenia held a session of the executive body on June 5. After the session, RPA speaker Eduard Sharmazanov said that the Republican Party was not going to hinder the adoption of the Government program. However, the main team of the Republican Party will vote against the program. “We will give a chance to the Government program to be adopted and provide the necessary votes. That is, as the Republican Faction did on May 8, this time – on June 7 and 8, during the discussion of the Government program, we will not induce artificial hindrances to Pashinyan’s Government and his program and will give an opportunity to it for being adopted by the National Assembly,” said Sharmazanov.
The RPA speaker stated that the Government program “was a compilation of quite big dreams, wishes, and toasts”, but not a professional Government program: “This Government program not only skips to mention figures, it also skips to introduce how the issues are going to be solved.”
The Republican Party is also ready to hear the proposals of the new version of the Electoral Code and give proposals and reach an amendment to the new Electoral Code: “We expect that the new Government will also adopt the democratic approach the former government had and will hear all political forces, will have discussions with all political forces. And without haste, it will initiate clear-cut discussions for us to reach a better Electoral Code.”
