The members of the Delegation from the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, who were invited to Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, reported during the press conference, that the approaches of the Armenian side in Artsakh Issue had been included in the report dedicated to the security in the territory of Eastern Partnership and adopted as the official position of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. The approaches of the Armenian side were the following: support to the proposals of OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, imperative of exceptionally peaceful resolution of the issue, as well as the stress on the events directed at the trust atmosphere restoration and giving importance to the negotiation process based at clear-cut actions.
The leader of the Delegation, Armen Ashotyan informed that besides the aforementioned, the Armenian side had presented an urgent bill referring to the acceleration of the process of Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement verification. Ashotyan said Armenian Delegation had made itself responsible to prompt the completion of the verification of the Agreement by the next elections of the European Parliament in May, 2019. For that the adoption of the mentioned bill was vital.
By adopting the bill in Euronest they called on all EU Member States to accelerate the verification of the Agreement, as well as to prompt the authorities of Brussels to verify the Agreement.
The next topic was the political corruption and money laundering. Armen Ashotyan informed that this topic was introduced by presentable experts from the EU, and Armenian Delegation also had a very active participation here: “That is, to continue the the consistent work at the level of the European Parliament, national parliaments, European political forces in order to refrain from the persons and political actors who are involved in corruption scandals because of Azerbaijan,” said Ashotyan, adding that they had worked to exclude the inclusion of the European so called “labeled” political actors in at least the circles having a primary role in making decisions for Armenia or parliamentary platforms and who had recorded rather visible success.
Let us remind you that not more than 3 bills are possible to adopt in each session. Each Delegation wants to further its draft. 6 drafts were presented, 2 from which by the Delegation of the Republic of Armenia.
