On July 3, around midnight, almost all territory of Azerbaijan, including Baku, Sumgait, and Ganja, had a power cut caused by the fault in Mingechaur Thermal Power Plant. This is reported by Turan agency.
According to the “Azerenergy” state company, the reason for the termination of the power supply was the failure of the Thermal Power Plant caused by the heat.
The electricity supply was restored in Ganja and surrounding areas, in the majority of Baku, in Sumgait, and in the central part of the country in the morning. Railway traffic has been paralyzed because of the power cut.
