New program: Syrian-Armenians to receive accommodation fees and take language courses in Armenia

The Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia launches another program to the support of Syrian-Armenians residing in Armenia, entitled “Increase of Resistance of Syrian-Armenians and Natives”, which will last for 36 months – from July 2018 to June 2021.

The Minister of Diaspora, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan mentioned that the program was going to bring together initiatives of a set of fields: legal consultation, teaching Armenian, business support. “Over 9000 Syrian-Armenians will receive consultation on various types of services. More than 700 Syrian-Armenians will receive accommodation fees for 1 month and take language courses,” mentioned Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

He later added that business-seminars would be organized for entrepreneurs. “The Ministry of Diaspora will henceforth facilitate the success of this program more willingly in all directions, inasmuch as the welfare of life standards of Syrian Armenians is the success of all of us,” assured the Minister.

According to him, the beneficiaries of the mentioned initiatives in the frameworks of the program will generally be more than 10.000 Syrian-Armenians.

Let us add that the budget of the program makes up 3 million Euros. The main funder is the European Union.
