According to “RIA Novosti”, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated that Russia welcomes the communication between Yerevan and Baku over Karabakh issue. Political consultations between Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministry officials took place in Baku on Friday.
“I want to thank my Azerbaijani colleague for the invitation, we have traditional cooperation. We exchanged views on various issues. We agreed to intensively exchange views, and set international cooperation frameworks on international platforms”, said Zakharova at a briefing in Baku.
According to her, “Russia has proved to be effective and constructive as a mediator in Karabakh issue. Various format meetings are being held for conflict resolution. We welcome any constructive communication between Baku and Yerevan on which the sides agree”.
