August 19,2018 16:40

“When he said that all criminals are to sit in the defendant’s seat, I completely agree. He was correct,” said second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan’s lawyer, Hayk Alumyan, in regard to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s announcement in connection to the events of March 1st and how all murderers and criminals will be arrested. Robert Kocharyan is accused of being behind the events of March 1st. The lawyer is not in agreement, however, with the prime minister’s claim that everything about March 1st has been uncovered. “I do not have that information.”

Alumyan was asked why, in his opinion, is the prime minister making similar announcements when the investigations are still ongoing. “Maybe he thinks that everything has been uncovered. I don’t know on what basis he is making such claims, so that’s why I can’t answer your question,” the lawyer observed.

He was also asked if there was a violation of the presumption of innocence on behalf of the prime minister. Hayk Alumyan said, “He did not give names for me to say that he violated the presumption of innocence.”
