Announcement regarding snap parliamentary elections:

“We accept our adopted politics and do not want to get in the way of the work of the government. We have announced many times that we are not against holding snap parliamentary elections, which is fully the responsibility of the Armenian government. We believe that the correct time frame in which to hold the snap parliamentary elections is May-June, which will allow the parliamentary republic to fully discuss changes in the Electoral Code with parliamentary and outside forces, NGOs, international organizations in Armenia, the Venice Commission, and with the PACE Monitoring committee. Besides that, it will be possible during that time frame to obtain the necessary technical methods which will uphold the electoral process.

We have announced our readiness to collaborate with all political forces to hold parliamentary elections in May-June.

Besides all of this, and besides the fact that we do not accept the possibility of holding parliamentary elections in December, the Republican faction did not and does not intend to nominate a candidate for Prime Minister. Our intention in holding elections in the spring is to protect the fundamentals of democracy and to create a new parliament.”
