On August 12, at 03:29 local time (23:29 GMT) the RA MES Seismic Protection Survey Seismological Network registered an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 and ten kilometers depth with the geographic coordinates of 39.86⁰ in northern latitude and 44.16⁰ in eastern longitude on the 12th kilometer south- east from Igdir Town, Turkey.

The magnitude of the earthquake in the epicenter was 5-6.

The earthquake was felt in Armavir and Ararat provinces of RA with the magnitude of 4, in Yerevan with the magnitude of 3-4.
