“We will either have no or very minimal economic growth in Artsakh,” the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, said in response to Aravot Daily’s question. We asked him about the predictions for Artsakh’s GDP considering that the president of the Central Bank in Armenia recently announced that there will be a 6.2% decrease in GDP in comparison to the expected 4%.
We also asked Harutyunyan about whether or not families immigrated to Artsakh in the aftermath of the explosion in Beirut.
Immediately after the incident, the President of Artsakh had expressed willingness to provide homes for Lebanese-Armenians in Artsakh.
In response, Arayik Harutyunyan said, “The issue is that we do not want to lose Lebanese-Armenians’ interest, but on the other hand, if our compatriots have to leave and have nowhere to stay, we are ready to take on that humanitarian step for our brothers and sisters.”
