Zareh Sinanyan concluded his visit to Los Angeles

Yerevan, Armenia (June 14, 2022) – RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan concluded his working visit to the United States.
The High Commissioner held meetings in Los Angeles with the Armenian Educational Foundation, the Paros Foundation, Armenia School Foundation and with participants of the SERVICE Armenia youth program. During the meetings, educational, socio-economic and other programs launched by the Diaspora, Armenian and Artsakh organizations were discussed: scholarships, opening of robotics laboratories, construction of schools and property securing, etc..

At the Promise Armenian Institute at UCLA, Zareh Sinanian met with faculty members.

They discussed areas of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation in the fields of research, education and politics.

Then, the High Commissioner attended the ARPA Institute’s 30th Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles. The institute aims to promote cooperation and understanding within the world community through the provision of consulting, analysis, research and planning services in education, economics, policy, health and technology between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America.

Zareh Sinanyan presented the President of the Institute, Dr. Hagop Panossian, with a letter of appreciation: “ARPA, based in California, through its mission, work, involvement of wide scientific and research circles, and the dedication of individual Diaspora Armenians, contributed to the recognition of the work of Armenians globally.

In a short period of time, the Institute has already made its mark in the fields of education, health, economy, energy, and other important areas of Armenia and Artsakh” said the High Commissioner.

The event was attended by leading Armenian figures in academia, elected officials, and supporters.

The next meeting took place with the spiritual leaders of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America (AEUNA) in Glendale, CA. Zareh Sinanyan discussed the events taking place in Armenia, our Office’s work, and new areas of cooperation. The High Commissioner thanked the Evangelical Union for their support of Armenian families fleeing the conflict in Ukraine through the Armenian Missionary Association of America and noted the importance of this and other partnerships our Office has with the AEUNA’s sister organizations.

The High Commissioner also met with the leadership of the Armenian International Women’s Association, then he visited the Narek Educational Foundation’s daycare and Saturday school, and the Lark Musical Society and learned about activities to preserve Armenian education and culture.

Zareh Sinanyan met with founders Armen Adjemian and Drew Kutcharian at the headquarters of DISQO. The company is recognized as a hyper-growth tech startup in the US with a branch in Yerevan Armenia that currently employs 500 people.
The High Commissioner also held meetings with community members, businessmen and artists of Los Angeles.
