On February 1st, Ambassador Samvel Mkrtchian had a meeting with Renata Bem, Deputy Executive Director of the Association of the Polish National Committee for UNICEF.
The Ambassador touched upon the situation resulting from Azerbaijan’s illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and Azerbaijan’s policy of subjecting the Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh to ethnic cleansing. He underscored the urgency of guaranteeing the vital rights of children in the current situation, referring also to the case of terrorizing children traveling from Armenia to Artsakh by Azerbaijani fake eco-activists, which is a gross violation of children’s rights.
Samvel Mkrtchian stressed the need for continuous efficient steps and targeted responses to similar violations of international human rights law and humanitarian law by institutions involved in the protection of human rights.
