We Should Do our Best to Mitigate Tension, but It Should Not Be at Expense of Artsakh’s Self-Determination: Artsvik Minasyan

March 02,2023 22:30

In the last regular sittings of the National Assembly, the legislative amendments mainly referred to the legal system. I would like to mention that we have applied the institute of special opinion for the first time during these years. We intend to use it in other bodies as well. We have introduced a special opinion on two issues regarding the legislation on state secret and on the Prosecutor’s Office. The NA Secretary of the Armenia Faction Artsvik Minasyan stated this during the March 2 parliamentary briefings.

Speaking about the situation in Artsakh, the deputy underscored: “We Should Do our Best to Mitigate Tension, but it should not be at the expense of Artsakh’s self-determination.”

Referring to the information raised in the press that a device inspecting the access and the exit of the cargo transportation to Artsakh can be installed in the Lachin Corridor, Artsvik Minsayan noted that taking into consideration that Artsakh is under blockade for almost 90 days, some steps should be taken, including, the requirements must be tightened within the framework of the implementation of the International Court of Justice decision.

“Concession, any agreement, where the National Security Service of Azerbaijan or the Azerbaijani subdivisions can carry out control functions over the entry and exit to Nagorno-Karabakh, means that we are condemning our Artsakh Armenian brothers and sisters to a slow death. Such concessions should not be made,” Artsvik Minasyan said. According to him, everything should be done to carry out works with Russia in that direction.
