The people of Artsakh held a protest in front of the US Embassy in Armenia the other day, demanding that the USA ensure the safe transfer of Artsakh people from Artsakh to Armenia through international mechanisms.
According to Levon Hayryan, the President of “For the sake of Hadrut” NGO, people in Artsakh face severe challenges today, the most horrific of the last 35 years.
“The people are faced with whether to stay in their homes or leave. Some people hesitate, and some people say that I will not leave my house at the cost of death. Our main demand from the USA and the West is to send an observation mission to Artsakh and the exit roads from Artsakh. We all know that Russians and Turks cannot be trusted. As happened in the case of students from Artsakh, a couple of groups were transferred to Armenia without hindrance, and then the arrests began.
They will refuse this way of working; they will continue. We should also warn people not to go on those roads until they are 100% sure. Turks and Russians now know that the world’s attention is focused here, at first they don’t interfere, and then I don’t know what will happen to those people who still don’t want to leave,” he said.

According to Levon Hayryan, 30-40 percent of the population in Artsakh today may not want to leave their homeland. “People don’t want to leave their homes. Everything of people is connected with their home; leaving the home, leaving the motherland is a bit difficult. But there are no security guarantees either.
Without Armenian sovereignty in a territory, it is a nest of future genocide. I even fear for our compatriots in Russia; it seems to me that sooner or later, an Armenian genocide will take place in Russia when we follow the thoughts expressed in the Russian media.
The speech of Erdogan and Putin today is almost the same. In other words, an Armenian can live as an Armenian only in a country with Armenian sovereignty. If Armenian sovereignty is not extended to Artsakh, 100 thousand Armenians, 1 million or 10 million Armenians will not be able to live there. But if there is Armenian sovereignty, even one Armenian can live there safely.
Although this seems very late now, if there is Armenian sovereignty in Artsakh, Armenians will be able to live there. Knowing the Turks well, we can say that the remaining ones are future martyrs,” he added.
