Monstrous Propaganda Theses

February 07,2026 11:00

There are propaganda theses promoted by Armenia’s authorities that simply do not withstand criticism. One such example is the claim that “we have established peace, and Armenian soldiers will no longer be killed.” Pashinyan’s policies in 2018–2020 and his own public statements during that period (one need only recall “My Munich Principles”) stand in stark contradiction to this thesis. The Armenian authorities have done nothing to prevent the deaths of thousands of our soldiers. No reasonable person should believe that the goal of this government is to preserve soldiers’ lives.

Another equally absurd thesis is that of a “hybrid war.” First, the authorities themselves have a very poor understanding of what that term actually means. Second, they never officially state who is allegedly waging this war against us. Still, I do see a certain element of rationality here, since it serves as a convenient tool for “extracting money” from the EU and other institutions.

But there are theses that are downright monstrous, utterly outside any human frame of reference. One of them is the de facto welcoming of the verdicts handed down by Aliyev’s version of “justice” in Baku. Personally, I believe that even in cases where someone who has committed serious crimes receives a punishment they deserve, excessive enthusiasm is inappropriate. In such situations, one should simply note that the system has functioned—and leave it at that. Talk of “that wasn’t enough,” or suggestions that the person should be subjected to this or that treatment, including tortures not предусмотрены by law, is entirely unnecessary. One should never forget that we are talking about human beings, however guilty they may be.

However, the leaders of Artsakh did not commit the crimes they are accused of. They are being tried solely because we, Armenians, refused to allow our dignity to be trampled and defended our right to live on our ancestral land. The current Armenian authorities agree with Aliyev that we did not, in fact, have that right. Hence the justification of Baku’s court verdicts within the pro-government segment in Armenia. It turns out that the Artsakh leaders are “guilty” because a) they are “Russian proxies,” b) they are “looters,” and c) they are responsible for the deaths of soldiers from Armenia.

To say or write such things is a monstrous pathology.
