On September 24, High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan met with representatives of the Knights of Vartan delegation.
The meeting was attended by Grand Commander of the Knights of Vartan Robert Avakian; Past Grand Commanders Steve Kradjian, Dr. Gary Zamanigian, and Levon Thorose; as well as Ani Kradjian, a member of the Daughters of Vartan.
The discussions focused on Armenia–Diaspora relations and prospects for further strengthening cooperation.
Particular attention was given to the Government of Armenia’s vision for effectively harnessing the potential of Armenians worldwide, as well as to existing challenges in Armenia–Diaspora relations, particularly the spread of disinformation in the information space and possible ways to counter it.

High Commissioner Sinanyan presented the delegation with the programs and initiatives of the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs aimed at promoting repatriation, engaging Diaspora professionals, and expanding youth participation.
The High Commissioner noted that the Government of Armenia attaches particular importance to the involvement of Diaspora Armenian professionals in the country’s public administration system. To this end, the Office has been implementing the iGorts program for several years. The discussion also touched upon the initiative launched this year by the Prime Minister of Armenia to establish a talent pool of graduates from the world’s top 200 universities. A number of professionals who applied through the initiative have already been appointed to senior positions within Armenia’s public administration system.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the High Commissioner invited the members of the delegation to participate in the Third Global Armenian Summit, to be held in Yerevan on November 5–8, 2026, emphasizing its role as an important platform for dialogue on issues of pan-Armenian significance and for deepening cooperation between Armenia and the Diaspora.
