The delegation of Armenia participated in the interactive dialogue with Mr. Volker Türk, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, within the framework of the Third Committee of the UN General Assembly.
It was emphasized that Armenia shares the High Commissioner’s report’s emphasis on human rights as a crucial foundation for preventing the recurrence of conflict, rebuilding trust and sustaining peace.
It was further noted that Armenia remains firmly committed to advancing a durable and sustainable peace in the region.
In its statement, the delegation of Armenia highlighted that addressing outstanding humanitarian issues in accordance with international human rights law and international humanitarian law, in particular, those concerning detainees and missing persons, is essential to building confidence and fostering reconciliation.
