“This is the question, which I will avoid answering,” Davit Harutyunyan, the head of the state and legal issues standing commission of the National Assembly and a member of the RPA executive body, said in response to a question of www.aravot.am what had been his impression when he had read the official statement about the meeting between President Sargsyan and US Secretary of State Ms. Hillary Clinton, what issues the US Secretary of State and the President of the Republic of Armenia had discussed, whether agreements had been reached. He also refused to guess in that regard. In response to an observation of www.aravot.am that there had been an impression that Ms. Clinton had bothered visiting Armenia, in order to exchange opinions on our weather conditions and to say how much she loved our president, Davit Harutyunyan said, “I assume that it means that some issues, some details were discussed, which are not made public.”
The oppositional Armenian National Congress has already stated that one should think that in return for the smiles and praises lavished, the USA had serious expectations from the Armenian government, which, it is not ruled out, might concern ceding the liberated territories. Davit Harutyunyan stated as opposed to the supporters of this opinion, “I can’t imagine that anyone can force us to make a move that will harm our national interests.”
