In a talk with Aravot.am, the Director of ‘Ordfilm” Company Haik Ordyan noted that “Ordfilm” always supports young artists starting from technical part up to creative, producer, etc. “We constantly are trying to find partners to discover talented, gifted young people. Maybe, later, we will cooperate with them. It is essential for us to know who will be in the field of cinematography tomorrow because solving momentary problems we can not have a future,” – said our interlocutor. Haik Ordyan added that “Ordfilm” will prepare a separate package for the winner and will present a whole package. We asked him if he assesses our field of cinematography in the scale of 10 units what score we will talk about. “Maybe five … One of the reasons is that we have left from us in a particular movie scene. I’m not saying that we have to shoot deep national films that we will only understand. I do not mean it at all. But that we have to maintain the national layer, there might be no other opinion. Otherwise, in many cases we ape the European and American films, that’s why we are not interesting outside, while the Iranian and Turkish films are accepted by Europe, thanks to their national layer. The biggest problem is the lack of field and the school. Today we go from extreme to extreme: we either shoot an author’s film, there are directors that make films only for themselves, become happy for the work they did, others go through popcorn films, forgetting about the art of cinematography.”
