Does official Yerevan have a plan about Armenia-Turkish protocols?

April 21,2014 19:44

“I saw more messages in the statement of the Spokesperson addressed to abroad than political,” said the “Heritage” party spokesperson Tevan Poghosyan, referring to the statements made by the President’s Spokesperson that prior to April 24, there would be official statements about the future of the Armenian-Turkish protocols. Recall that a day before, during the visit to the RA Ministry of Defense, the President Sargsyan spoke about the Armenian-Turkish protocols, he noticed that all previous skepticisms were groundless. “Serzh Sargsyan’s speech voiced at the Ministry of Defense a day before was totally about the matters that the authorities do not consider that the Armenian-Turkish protocols have been problematic, moreover, he gave an answer to all once raised counterarguments, one after the other, which, I think, means that the internal component of the process thus was attempted to shut down. A day later, the statements made by the Spokesperson that there would be political statements, which would be consistent with the token of the year of 100th anniversary, was more leaving the impression of the last warning addressed to the international players involved in the process. I think official Yerevan has a plan about the protocols, about which we would probably know later. In any case, this is my impression,” said Tevan Poghosyan.

Aravot.am tried also to get comments from ARF representatives on this issue. The latter were either not responding to our phone calls, or were responding that they are too busy to answer the questions.
