Recently, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a mixed-accusing statement. Erdoğan accused the Armenian Diaspora in carrying out provocations, inciting confrontation with Turkey and escaping the negotiations. He stated that the only thing that the Diaspora does is the decision-making in the countries that have nothing to do with them. Erdoğan said that there are countries that cannot show Armenia even on the map, but their parliaments are making decisions about Armenia. In his statement, he again referred to the famous Turkish proposal to establish a commission of historians and stressed that their archives are open, while ours are closed and noted that they are not bound to recognize Genocide by anyone’s order.
“Aravot” talked to political scientist Levon Shirinyan about the subject, who, commenting on Erdoğan words, said that they are Turks and they would say a lot of things by April 24. “In the course of the millennia of its history, Armenian people have created such a civilization and culture that constituted a part of the world civilization and culture, something that Turkey does not have and cannot have. If they want a commission of historians, let them go to Paris and look at the Treaty of Sèvres and Wilson’s arbitration map, which is indestructible, and if the Turks’ eyes are closed, it does not mean that it is the way the world looks. I suggest to send a Turkish delegation to Paris to study the whole school of two or three years of Versailles and Sèvres Treaties and see where was the free and independent Armenia born…” said Levon Shirinyan.
Levon Shirinyan said that these statements are the Turkish “elusives” and the lie definitely is neither by weight, nor by number, in addition, they have always played a role an executioner. “The birth of Turkish genius is the invention of the genocide, such a thing can occur only in the skull of a Turk, the idea of slaughtering a child can be born only in the skull of a Turk, so let the world assess them whether it’s worth taking a pride of such an invention or not,” mentioned Levon Shirinyan, citing Davutoglu’s words, who used to say what role Armenians have played in the development of Turkey and the Turks and also what they have created. “And what creative vein do they have in the history of Armenia and the Armenian nation?” asks Levon Shirinyan.
