Avetik Isahakyan`s grandson Avik Isahakyan, the director of the Institute of Literature, considers the international community’s response on the eve  of the Armenian Genocide 100-th anniversary to be late.

– “Fifty years ago it should have been, but fifty years ago the regime that existed in the Soviet Union pretend to have forgotten about the Armenian Genocide. But how could two million people`s death be forgotten”?

This is how Avik Isahakyan responded to “Aravot.am”. According to him the declaration of the victims to Saint was the best step to commemorate their memory.

-“The whole world is mourning with us, and the Armenians proved by its will that the mourning can be made the rebirth.  There are few nations in the world that survived such a terrible Genocide but the Armenians survived”.

He is confident the Turks will not recognize and will not condemn the denial of the Armenian genocide in the near future.

-““God willing let the Turk humanize and become a man, as Tumanyan used to say the Turks are far from  becoming a man from a beast”.
