‘Taron Margaryan and Karen Karapetyan came to tell us how good they are:’ Bakhshyan

“Today there are 30400 kids attending preschool facilities, and there can’t be a word about 33.000,” -told a “Yelq” candidate for City Council Anahit Bakhshyan to Aravot.am, denying the claims of a mayor candidate according to the RPA list Anna Hakobyan that it’s an achievement that 33.000 children are studying free at preschool facilities.

“Preschool educations isn’t a must according to our law, our state hasn’t taken the responsibility of giving children preschool education. During the days of Karen Karapetyan, who was the mayor of Yerevan before Taron Margaryan, the kindergartens of the city became free, which, I think, isn’t socially fair, because except Yerevan, in all the other states of Armenia, where people are in worse social conditions, preschool facilities are paid for and making the ones in Yerevan free, doesn’t talk about justice.

It means that Taron Margaryan and Karen Karapetyan came to say, look, we are so good, that the kindergartens of Yerevan are free. It’s not a good thing at all. Today in different districts’ waiting lists there are a lot of children, more precisely 2400 kids, that are older than 3, which means they should have already been in kindergartens, but it hasn’t been their turn yet and the question is, will it ever be?”
