Body to investigate alleged corruption at PACE calls for evidence

Strasbourg, 07.07.2017 – The first meeting of the independent external Investigation Body set up by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) to look into allegations of corruption made against certain members and/or former members of the Assembly (“IBAC-COE / GIAC-COE”) took place in Strasbourg on 4-5 July 2017. The Investigation Body is composed of Sir Nicolas Bratza, Mr Jean-Louis Bruguière and Ms Elisabet Fura.

The Investigation Body will hold its first hearings of witnesses between 4 and 7 September 2017. Those wishing to provide any documentary, testimonial and/or material evidence which they consider necessary for the fulfilment of the Investigation Body’s mission may contact its secretariat, no later than 1 September 2017, via the following e-mail address: [email protected].

The dates of further hearings will be communicated at a later stage.
